> Is protection by BlockChain-certified dating better than Soleau or e-Soleau deposits, or copyright?

 

Yes, without a doubt. Firstly, because BlockChain time-stamping is recognized worldwide (including in China, India, South America, the USA, etc.), whereas the Soleau envelope is only really recognized in certain Berne Convention countries (the Soleau system is controversial in some countries), and is only valid for 5 years, whereas the e-Powerdoc System has no time limit. Secondly, because time-stamping via BlockChain is cheaper and easier to use, you can time-stamp more documents and be better protected with regard to the anteriority of your creations, ideas, documents, videos, audio, responses to invitations to tender, quotes, proposals...

 

> Why does it take several hours to receive the encrypted "Hash" code for my deposit?

 

Simply because of the way the BlockChain works, which also guarantees its unbreakable security. In order to obtain the best prices, we produce up to 5 anchor batches per 24 hours. In fact, this can take from 10 minutes to several hours, depending on the time at which you date your file, and the load on the BlockChain network, which goes through several complex iterative calculations.

 

> If I lose my file or if my hard disk is damaged, is there a backup of my file at e-PowerDoc?

 

No, no backups are made for confidentiality reasons. However, you can choose the e-PowerDoc storage option, and your files will be stored on our highly secure servers for legal archiving (C14 cold room at Scaleway, bunkerized server in the Paris region). If you do not opt for storage on our servers, the files you time-stamp will not arrive on our servers, but will be directly analyzed by the BlockChain, which assigns it a decryption code called "Hash". This code corresponds to your file down to the bit. The slightest modification to the file, even a comma or a space, means that the file no longer corresponds to the Hash code. In this case, you need to request a new code for the modified file.

 

> How can I organize my files so that I always keep the original coded file?

 

Your file, once encoded (or "anchored") in the BlockChain, must be kept in a separate folder. You can make copies of this file, which you can then modify, while keeping the original encoded file intact. You can copy your time-stamped file as many times as you like (backup on multiple disks or media), but you need to work on copies if you want to make any modifications. On the other hand, you can open and close your original read-only file as many times as you like, but please don't make any changes.

 

> Is the "BlockChain" certified dating system really reliable?

 

It is currently the most reliable, secure and tamper-proof system in existence. Our BlockChain algorithms are the same as those used by BitCoin for its transactions.
